Accounts Assistant Opportunity

Due to expansion plans we have an exciting opportunity for an additional Accounts Assistant to join the team.

About You

We’re looking for an ambitious part qualified accountant who has experience within an accountancy practice.

Experience/skills required include:

  • AAT 4 or currently studying towards this.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Xero, TaxCalc and Microsoft Office would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good planning and time management.

The Role

This is a role for someone who is organised, has great attention to detail and enjoys processing accounting transactions.

In your new and varied role, you will:

  • Maintain client bookkeeping and bank reconciliations on Xero.
  • Raise sales invoices and process purchase invoices.
  • Prepare month end journals including accruals, depreciation and prepayments.
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns, agreeing them with clients and submitting to HMRC.
  • Assist with the preparation of sole trader / limited company year-end accounts and associated tax returns using TaxCalc.
  • Provide advice and assistance to clients on an ad-hoc basis in relation to their business.
  • Assist with client set-up on Xero and Dext.

Salary: £25,000 – 27,000
